Preschool for Maddox

Mad's first day of school was Tuesday, September 4th. This year Maddox attends school 5 days a weeks compared to last year's 2 days a week. Ever since Maddox started school last week, he has not been in the best mood. Finally, today he hopped in the car and told me he had a great day! Hooray! Maddox told me about his new friend Joey and how they played freeze tag. Mad's next comment: "Mom, what's a dork?" ... and so it begins!

I'm so glad he likes preschool better! How are you doing, getting him to school 5 days a week? I'm still struggling a little bit! It's been 5 years since I quit working and had a daily routine!

Did someone call Maddox a dork!!? I'll beat him up! Can't wait for Carter to be in school. Glad he likes it and made a friend.

so cute! Is 5 days a week hard on you? I don't mean emotional I mean getting there! I have preschool 2 days a week and dance one day and I am not really sure I like schedules!

Re: the "dork" comment. Grant & I can't figure out who said what. Maddox didn't seem upset about it, so we don't think anyone said it to him. We think maybe he heard one kid saying it to another. "Dork" doesn't usually come up at our house - Maddox prefers to use "stupid poo poo".

I don't want to jinx anything, because I have been late all my life, but I have been on time (even early) for school. It also helps that Mad's school has a fabulous carpool lane so you don't even have to get out of the car!

Man, I wish we had a drive thru drop off! I'd never have to be dressed or made up before noon!

Re the dork question - welcome to the world of outside influences on your kids! It's a brutal adjustment when you realize your kids are becoming friends with kids who have older siblings and know SO MUCH MORE than you ever thought your kids would know. And just wait 'til they start watching the older kid TV shows, like Drake & Josh, Hannah Montana, etc. They're pushing all the 'tween stuff WAY to early! I, unfortunately, I am now one of the parents with older kids and I shudder to think what Allison is passing along. This morning Sarah told me if she holds her shirt tight, you can see her boobs and that she's ready for a bra. SHE'S 8!!!

I am glad no one called Maddox "dork" because that makes me sad.
